Participants begin arriving in Zagreb for the European Universities Futsal Championship 2025

Today marks the beginning of arrivals for the EUSA European Universities Futsal Championship 2025, which will take place from July 17 to 25, 2025, in Zagreb, Croatia. Participants — primarily men’s teams — have started arriving throughout the day, with more teams, especially women’s delegations, expected tomorrow. Upon arrival, all teams are completing the accreditation process and settling into the Athletes’ Village at the Student Dormitory Stjepan Radić.

The tournament kicks off with the General Technical Meeting (GTM) for the men’s teams on July 17 at 16:00 and for the women’s teams on July 18 at 15:00, both held at the Faculty of Kinesiology. These meetings are essential for finalizing competition details and confirming the official match schedule.

Teams are also beginning their final training sessions at the Faculty of Kinesiology, making last-minute preparations ahead of the group stage matches.

This year’s edition brings together 33 university teams — 18 in the men’s competition and 15 in the women’s, representing 16 countries across Europe, including Azerbaijan, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkiye, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

With over 600 athletes and officials, the event promises a thrilling week of university futsal at its highest level.

Competitions will be held across four venues in Zagreb:

  • Dražen Petrović Sports Hall

  • Trešnjevka Sports Hall (Kutija Šibica)

  • Sutinska Vrela

  • Peščenica Sports Hall

The Opening Ceremony will take place on July 18 at 20:30h in the Dražen Petrović Sports Hall, officially launching the championship and gathering all teams for a festive welcome.

All matches will be livestreamed, giving fans, friends, and families across Europe the chance to follow the action in real time. Entry to all games is free for spectators.
