Opening day brings action and goals as championship kicks off

The European Universities Futsal Championship 2025 officially began today with two dynamic and engaging matches at the men’s tournament.
The opening match featured the Norwegian University of Science and Technology against the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France. Both teams entered the game with strong energy, scoring their first goals in the 9th minute. The first half remained balanced, ending with a score of 2:2. In the second half, the Norwegian side gained the upper hand, scoring two additional goals by the 35th minute. Despite the French team's efforts to equalise, the momentum shifted decisively in Norway's favour, leading to a final score of 4:2.
In the second match of the day, Jan Evangelista Purkyne University faced the University of Warwick. The Czech team dominated from the outset, quickly taking control and finishing the first half with a 4:0 lead. Although the English side had several promising chances, they were unable to break through the Czech defence. Warwick managed to score their only goal in the 34th minute, but the Czech team continued to press forward, ultimately securing a commanding 8:1 victory.
These first encounters set a competitive tone for the days ahead and provided an exciting start to the Championship.
