Group stage wrapped – Playoffs kick off next!

The group stage of the European Universities Futsal Championship came to a thrilling close at KC Dražen Petrović on July 22nd, with two action-packed men's matches marking the end of this phase. The energy in the stands matched the intensity on the court as teams fought for their final positions before entering the knockout stage.

University of Castilla-La Mancha vs University of Warwick (12-1)

The day began with a dominant performance by University of Castilla-La Mancha against University of Warwick. Even with a recent injury affecting their roster, Warwick put up a spirited effort. However, the Spanish side—currently leading their group—proved too strong, scoring goal after goal to close the match with a stunning 12:1 win.

Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France vs Jan Evangelista Purkyne University (1-2)

The second match brought the crowd to its feet as Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France clashed with Jan Evangelista Purkyne University. The French team took the early lead thanks to a 4th-minute strike from Noah Ganga, but the Czech team answered with a focused second-half performance. Two well-timed goals turned the tide, giving them a 2:1 victory and strong momentum heading into the playoffs.

With the group stage now complete, the tournament heads into the knockout rounds. The pressure rises, the stakes get higher, and every match is a step closer to the European university futsal crown.
